Took me over an hour to download but it was worth it - just about.

One complaint is that it's much slower than the old iTunes. The slowdown mainly occurs if I'm using the artwork browser though, which is class btw, but still a bit sluggish overall when changing tracks.

Perhaps it's just not equipped for huge music libraries.

They seem to have fixed the basic problems though.

Has anyone found that they are getting error 69s lately when ripping cds with Itunes? (Means it cannot rip the cd?)

Have got it now on several cds which I had previously ripped no problem:rolleyes:

It is very difficult to take an upgrade like this seriously - it has been released after obvious frantic pressure on all concerned due to the mess that is the first version - given the time involved how can any meaningful testing have been done at all on it?

For me at least, iTunes 7 was bug free, and I have a 20+ GB complex library with lots of podcasts, audiobooks and music from various sources gathered over many years. I also have two older iPod's that I'm using.

I usually wouldn't even post about this, but it seems like some people assume that everybody had problems with iTunes 7. That's simply not the case. The only reports I've read about problems were online, nobody I know in real life had any issues with it.

That being said, I installed iTunes 7.0.1 now. As I never had any bugs in the first place, I haven't noticed any difference (apart from the version number in the about box).

i've been having a few problems since i downloaded 7 ..... it looks bloody brilliant, but whilst playing back, the sound will go horibly wrong and distorted. I never had problems before, and i kind of thought it was my laptop, and not the software. anyone else have this problem?

    i'll download the update tonight

You are not alone - the sound problem during playback has been widely reported on the net. Google for itunes problems. I have a problem that I have not seen reported elsewhere and thats itunes shutting down after ripping a cd! Strangely enough it does not happen everytime a cd is ripped.

oh dear ... didnt realise until i read this post that there were any problems with the software ..... another problem that maybe related .... i was playing Vitalogy by Pearl Jam, and it kept shifting the order of the songs around, moving "better man" up in the order so it was played every second song ... i was going to re-import it because i thought it was something i did .... obviously theres more to it!

    cheers for the info

 Have been getting little skips here and there, always thought it was a hardware / system resource / multi-tasking issue, as it happened with previous version as well.

if you are importing from cd's then you shouldnt really be getting skips ... i have had problems from some mp3's people have given me, so i just deleted them, as im not sure where they got them from ... silly for me to accept them really as they were probably corrupt files.

that update has made all of the difference to me .... been listening to music while browsing etc, and had no problems at all in the last few hours

of course it could be hardware issues your having also, so dont discount that .... i have 512mb ram and i thing thats enough to run other programs as well as itunes without any bother

Has anyone found music simply disappearing from the itunes library? Stuff I imported recently has just vanished:eek: and I dont mean purchased music as apparently that has been happening frequently.

Also the artists column does not list all the artists ugh what a mess this programme is.

I've been lucky, not had any problems with iTunes 7.0.1 so far.

Just wondering, I've downloaded artwork for a lot of my albums from the iTunes store (using right-click, Get Artwork), is it possible to get this artwork to show up on my iPod when playing the albums? At the moment there is no artwork on my iPod :(

Thanks for your help in advance :)

i've had no probs at all, not even 7.0(currently running) i'll only update to a higher version if i have any problems. my library is 34.21gb with the cover art selection and running firefox, photoshop and usually ilustrator at the same time. on a standard g5 ppc imac
