Hey guys, my taskbar on xp pro has disappeared! it's just a blank space now. if i press the windows key the start menu pops up, and everything's normal, but i dunno where my taskbar is!

I used remote desktop login on the server in my house to get a few files and stuff from the laptop, and now the laptop hasn't got a taskbar!

I can just do a restore with norton ghost, but i'd rather not. any ideas? I stuck in a screen shot if it's any use.

Press ctrl+alt+del and select File->New Task(Run), enter explorer.exe into the box and see if that does anything.

Does it appear when you move the mouse to where it should be?

if it does then you may just have it set to auto hide.. if so then try right clicking on it when you are able to show and ensure the auto - hide option is unticked

This is sounding the most likely to me.

nope, not autohide either. tried a reboot too. kinda odd eh? The only thing is that when i was logged in on remote desktop there was no taskbar when i was working on the other computer. (the image i was seeing of the laptop's desktop had no taskbar, not the server itself)
