PC not reading ROM drives ?

I reformatted my two hard drives there about 2 weeks ago, no problems until now. Well I don't usually use my Rom drives but I want to burn some photos onto a CD.

Problem is the drives don't show up under "My Computer", I'd say it's a driver issue?

How do I sort this out?

i'd say the problem is due to the assigned drive letters your two hard drives are using. change the one that is not assigned to C (or whatever one has the primary partition installed) to something like I, and reboot. You should see your cd-rom drive listed as D

Are the CD ROM drives showing up under Device Manager? You shouldn't need any drivers for them.

Actually now that you mention it my non C drive is D but the text of it and every file in that HD is coloured blue !

    EDIT

How do I change the D to an I ?

    Ok all fixed ;)

I went into BIOS mode and just set it to default settings.

you can change the drive letter by right clicking the my computer icon, select manage, then go to disk management (in xp). right click on a drive to change it's letter.
i don't think this is your problem tho if you can't see the drive in the device manager.
i'd check the power and data connectors to the drive if i was you........
