Are they camera shy? Anytime i watch a programme on the paranormal they never seem to appear on camera? you get vague signs of their presence like a flickering light or the prsenter telling you they feel cold or hear noises but alas no ghost is seen on camera.

I propose, from my limited scientific knowledge that cameras are far less capable of capturing images than our physical eyes and less intelligent than our brains at deciphering visual stimulii.

    Or

I think perhaps that the energy needed to transform from essential form to a physiological state is so great that only a slight form can be expressed or captured with a camera.

    Lots of possibilities!

Alledgedly some are caught on film but until we understand the makeup and ghosts its impossible to answer the whys and why nots.

Though for the record here is a photo taken by me on a trip to Charleville Castle:

that's a great picture 6th, have you sent it to any authorities on the matter etc? Even someone with really sophisticated camera equipment might be able to help you out and get an even better look at what the shadow on the stairs is.

HAvent sent it anywhere, tbh I dont think theres anything they could do with it. I've studied photography myself and spend 8 hours a day playing around with images on a computer as my job. I'm not putting it out there as proof just as something interesting for people to look at.

Its a great place to visit. Tho I refused to sit alone on those stairs in the dark.

Im with Aisling on this one, I think that either our technology is not capable of capturing them fully, or what we do see and capture is the extent of what they can create for us.

And some of the thousands of pics out there are not fakes (like 6th's for instance)

Anyway, if people began producing absolute positive photographic, video, or other evidence of ghosts and the existence of an afterlife, it would completely alter our worldview, and perhaps that would be a bad thing right now. Were already arguing enough over belief systems.
