Ye probably know this, but there is a new series of Late Nite Poker (with a difference) starting tonight on C4 at midnight. Late Night Poker Ace starts off with amateurs playing (although I read they were good enough players) and then after a number of weeks the pros come in. Could be worth a look.

Something I liked about LNP was that they didnt show everyones hole cards on the hidden cameras - they would show PlayerA raising, and then show PlayerB's cards and talk through the situation PlayerB faced.
But they would not show/look at PlayersA cards until maybe after the flop or later.
It created tension and audience involvement that I feel you don't get in other poker programs which show everyones cards pre-flop.

this is a really good idea
i don't really like watching poker on tv,but i'd watch more if it was presented like that...
i only got into poker after late night poker was on,i must start watching this one ,hopefully they've kept the same format

Absolutely great show BUT (for ye decent players out there) its usually on when the last two tables of a live tourney that yoiu are playing in are being formed ;)

Oh yeah, must plug my VCR back in :D

Nice one, got me into the game too. Although there's already been a LNP Ace before, so this must be the second series of the new programme

I didn't like it, lacked the charm of the early years.
And the thing I referred to in my earlier post, they didnt do this anymore, just flashed up the cards the split second anyone placed a bet pre-flop.
Only watched the first 15 minutes though, I recorded the rest on my errr VCR.

I was afraid of this, its kind of like your first love everything was great and you had a wild time because you had no inhibitions. But you should never re visit your first love as its just never the same.

Tell me about it. I saw some of it but I was also watching the last hour of Poker Million on Sky last night, the show that got me interested in poker. Painful stuff. The standard of play, the blind structure, Jesse May's voice...

(Second last hand: heads up, even stacks, Ram Vaswani gets AJ and limps, fish raises with Q10s, Vaswani pushes, fish calls and cripples himself.)

Great. I taped it last night and was looking forward to watching it tonight. Sigh.

Like watching a snooker tournament played by people who can't play snooker!
Guess we have to wait until Late Night Poker Masters where the top 7 donks from this tournament play with the pros.
