    In the main page, the pictures could do with being made smaller in size [Some of them are: 138.52 KB (141846 bytes);28.19 KB (28868 bytes); 19.81 KB (20282 bytes); 25.94 KB (26558 bytes); 31.34 KB (32088 bytes); ...]. Not good for anyone on dial-up.

    Website itself looks nice though!

    Thats what she said. Oh, wait... :p

    Site looks good for the most part, but get rid of the splash page. It adds nothing except one more click and one more page load for the user to have to wait through before they get to what they want to see.

    Maybe you could do a little more to make the different sports home pages stand out a little more as well, they're rather buried in the menu.

    Make the entire image clickable on the front page.

    Ick - the canvas background! Noee!

    The index image is quite large in KB (286kb) - it should be at the most 50kb, if that for that size of image. Get it reduced via photoshop!

    If you insist on having that splash page, which in many people's opinions is not worthwhile - then at least make the link to the actual site clickable for the complete image as opposed to the text area only. However, it really is pointless having your first page as "Blah Website - click to enter". (says I who is making a site for a client that wants this :/ )

    As for the rest of it - the background repeat image is completely different. The logo text is a little unreadable due to the glow property and the whole content area could be a bit wider imo. Other than that it has a grand menu and it does what it says on the tin.

    ya, will prob get rid of the splash page, as so far, no one likes it - might re-do the logo text, make it a little more ledgible

    First impressions:

    1. I would get rid of the doorway page - it serves no purpose and if anything is likely to put people off.
    2. Site proper looks well; easy to discern various sections of the main text (could do with some line breaks maybe); navigation seems to be intuitive except that I tried clicking on a heading with submenu thinking it would bring me to an intro page for that section (you could give any item with a submenu a slightly different color? Yeah, I know you have the little arrow but from a usability perspective it would be easier to follow I think);
    3. As mentioned, images are way too heavy BW wise for their size;
    4. Same title for all pages - no Google love for that.
    5. Some serious mark-up errors - my parser couldn't keep up; With so many errors the site is *more* likely to NOT work across all platforms.

    All in all not too shabby though - nice enough site fit for the purpose.

    If you have any knowledge of a serverside language such as php and mysql as a database for example I'd suggest implementing that for the news articles on the first page, there's FAR too much there in my opinion, i'd rather see the heading and a snippet of the article which you click to view the entirity(sp??) for example:

    Under-21 Hurling match update Sun, 24 Sep '06

    Last sunday, the Under-21 Hurlers took on a physical Spiddal side on the Barna/Furbo pitch. Despite a lot of possession in the first half Salthill were generally inaccurate and went in at the break leading...
