i upgraded from 2000 to xp recently. I installed xp over the drive which had 2000 installed on it. Pre installation i removed my 2nd hard drive from the pc. Now when i put the 2nd hard drive back into the pc the pc won't boot. The PC boots fine with just the one drive in it.

Any idea as to why this might happen? And how can it be fixed

    Go raibh maith agat.

It is on the same cable (Primary IDE) as the 1st hard drive that has Windows installed? If so, make sure it is set as the slave drive if you haven't already tried that.

What error message are you getting, is it one from windows or the BIOS? (or are you getting a blank screen?)
