    Hi,
I am driving to Maynooth next Sat(30th) from Galway city. Could anyone advise me about the amount of traffic on the road in the early morning. I need to be at the University at 8.30/9am. Any advice about what time I should be leaving Galway would be greatly appreciated.

2 and half hours is more than enough from Galway city.

Good road most of the way, esp the latter part of the journey where you can make up time.

    I live in Maynooth btw.

Normally traffic will be very light, most of it will be going the other way, which can stop over taking when you get stuck behind a slow moving tractor, but at the time you are leaving, i reckon the roads will be empty.

It can be done in 2.5 hours, but allow 3 hours if you don't want to risk penalty points, so leave at about 05:30hrs
