just ordered it two and was about to post about it being region free... just looked on IGN and it only got 6.8/10, thats nothing special at all!

Wasn't particularly impressed with the demo to even shell out €30 on it. Bloody final year of college means I haven't got much time to play games anymore, it'll take me the rest of the year to finish saints row and oblivion.

Apparently the story missions can be finished in an afternoon (4-5 hours). There are over 200 side missions but they're not very varied. Still, looks like it's worth getting anyway

Exactly what I thought. Going into third year in college is gonna eat away gaming time. I have 3 new games and 2 old games to get through and I didnt think Just Cause looked like anything special, though I'm sure lots of people will enjoy it anyway

If there is a barren spell after I finish Dead Rising and Saints Row I *might* get this, otherwise not bothered, demo was nothing special.

Its weird, IGN gave it 2 reviews, on US which got 6.8, and a UK one which got 8.8! Whats up with that?

I actually only ordered it earlier today so we'll have a pretty good idea of the difference.

I have Just Cause and have to say that I think it's brilliant for what it is.
The British IGN review was dead on.

The game may be short, if you want it to be, but it's unbelievably fun if you put the effort in.

It's the most open ended game I've played on the 360 yet.
You can literally do any mission, any way you want to.

The stunts are brilliant, bu only if you take them in the spirit that they're meant.
Yes nobody can do the stuff that Rico Rodrigues does (btw, brilliant spy name!:D ), and yes you can't open your parachute multiple times in one jump, but who cares!
If you play the game in the right frame of mind it's brilliant!

The game looks stunning, and it really does suck you in if you let it.
This is Avalanches first ever game, and it really is something new and different. I can see this franchise becoming a really big hit down the line.
(How big is a recommendation of a game, when you can't wait for the sequel before the original game is a week old!!!:D )

Basically, if you're the type of person who likes to play games and finish them, you'll hate Just Cause, but if you're the type of person who likes to use their imagination, and have fun and variety in a game, you'll f***ing love it!

P.S: Because of the short game play rate, I took the missions themselves very slowly, interspersing them with the side missions, and exploring the island, and I managed to get a good thirty hours of really entertaining game play out of it.

Each to their own I suppose. I turned it off after ten minutes. The retarded ps2 player models, cheesy storyline (how many more of these are we expected to take?), futuristic weapons, annoying magically spawing cops and the amount of damage you can take put me right off.
