I have a goldfish and a few minnows in a tank and I'm wondering is too late this year to transfer them to the garden pond . There are some goldfish already in the pond which is about 3-4 ft deep and 9 by 8 in size. Any advice?

IIRC it is technically a bit late. Theres no way of telling the way our weathers gonna be from here on out.
Also it would give them no time to acclimatise to being outdoors in general.

If it were me Id wait till late spring when it gets a bit warmer.
