Hi there everyone, have just joined this site. Was wondering does anyone know where I could get Sirdar/Hayfield Ribbon. It was on the market about 8 years ago and it was lovely to work with. Have a few tops still that are in perfect condition, but it seems impossible to find the yarn. Please help!!!!!

    hiya!

i find impossible these days to find any good knitting shops at all, I've all but given up doing something I really really enjoyed

if you've had no luck googling it, there might be a wool shop prepared to order it in for you

    failing that I'd try ebay

may be able to help here-we also have a knitting addict-who recentlt came across 2 Irish online wool outlets:
    www.lavenderyarns.com and www.thisisknit.ie.
I seem to remember that the second one also has an outlet at weekends in Blackrock Market.
    Hope this helps

you might find a new similar yarn if you ask about, sadly yarns just go out of fashion. try a car boot sale too, someone might have a batch to get rid of

Hi, you never said if it was Dublin that you were looking for knitting supplies?
There are a couple of options.
Springwools in walkinstown have a good range, their website is www.springwools.com.They don't seem to have all their range on their site though, so you may be as well to go into them or ring them to ask.
This is knit also have a good supply, they are based in drogheda but come to the blackrock market every weekend. They will be at the market almost every day over the Christmas period, check out their website for times etc www.thisisknit.ie
The wool shop in Bray, on the main street, also have a good supply, they dont however, have a website.
lavendar yarns are based in Cork and are very prompt at sending out an order (as are thisisknit) www.lavendaryarns.com (Ithink)
Yarn in Galway also has a good supply www.yarn.ie

One of the other things you could do is check out this site, it is aiming to keep knitters in Ireland informed of all supplies etc.
    www.olannban.net
and there are many stitch and bitch groups popping up all over the place, all the info is on the olannban site if you are interested!

I'm a knitter btw, did you guess? LOL :D
