I finished a corporal's course over the summer, and one guy on there and his brother had this cool polish stuff for their parade boots. They were shiny as f**k, and they never had to polish em,

so I went shopping around, and I found the stuff, it works a treat

go to Link Removed, the site's an all irish affair an this stuff works a treat!

Be careful putting it on, if you're too heavy with the brush you'll leave stroke marks. Use a good brush too, otherwise you'll be picking the loose bristles off your toecap.

    It's like varnish really.

Out of Interest how are poeple getting their boots shiny now.
I was in the FCA years ago and we never touched off a Brush!

Kiwi Parade Gloss and a yellow cloth in small circles mixed with
cold water. For Buffing we found Pretty Poly Womens tights were the
best brand to give a good extra shine. at the Time Pretty Poly were very
expensive tights for women compared to whatever normal brands they used.

As a recruit I made the mistake of burning my boots then covering with
polish and candlewax. They were the best boots of all with a mirror finish
but after parade there was a tradition of your mates standing on em and ruining the finish. Also the leather ended up like wood and cracked less than a year later.

In an emergancy once I sprayed mine with WD-40
and amazing temp shine but the lubricant attracted the dust
    within an hour or two.

I'm still using Kiwi, applying loads with one brush and burning it in, then buffing off with another brush and shining up with tights, looks like the old ways are the best, it takes some time but wow what a shine!!!!

Yer man swans in , his first post pimps a product, albeit a good one, he posts again on the same thread and hasn't posted again in 4 months. Can anyone spell "Shill"???

It may be a plug but thats annoying, I looked at the product the other day and was going to buy it but now the links removed!!

Sorry about that but advertising in that manner is against Boards.ie policy not just here in the Military Forum. As soon as it was noticed it had to be removed.

I'm sure if you PM one of the earlier posters on the thread they would PM the details to you.

Dark muse, the best thing for a mirror like shine, is bulling the boots with Kiwi like said above. Don't worry about the miracle fixes you'll be much happier with the results if you do it the traditional way.
