Screenclick 02 & overcharging - not such a bargain

I post this here because I know a lot of you signed up for this deal. I was a registered member of screen click before the 02 offer and signed up through the 02 web site. Everything indicated that it had gone through ok.

I noted my bank statement today and found I had been charged for the last few months. Can anyone tell me when the offer was first posted here as thats when I signed up and the previous posts dont go back that far?

Need to figure out how much I was ripped off before I go demanding it back.

    thanks,

Here is the original thread. I'll leave this here for a few hours, buyer beware with this promotion (and company) as I and many others have stressed.

Screenclick and Moviestar are different companies.

    So far so good.:)

Opened my account mid July and getting an average of 1 dvd a week. Haven't been charged at all, and just received an email a few days extending until December.

Might this have something to do with the problems people had signing up (perhaps they accidentally signed up for the non discounted version)? I didn't have such problems. Everything went smoothly for me!

I thought Ruu was getting the two mixed up.
    Maybe not :o

If you didn't close your original account first then that's probably why you are still being charged.

I opened an account through O2 but had some trouble registering. I ended up being charged the first month but was refunded straight away and instructed to set up a new account when I complained.
If you already had an account and you didnt close it, then it seems logical that you would still be charged for it. Have you contacted them about this at all?

    Think that was my problem

I didn't close the original account but then it didn't instruct me to. Following the promo instructions on o2 I simply logged in to update my account as instructed. No mention of having to cancel my account.

I've raised it with them so will see how their customer service works out.

I used my old innactive account without any problems. Although I recall at the time that alot of people were having trouble linking to screenclick from o2.

I used to work with one of the guys who owns Screenclick and would be very surprised if anything dodgy was going on. I've been a member myself since about May of this year and find it to be a very good service. Only problem I've ever experienced was a DVD I returned getting lost in the post and once I notified them that I'd returned the disk a fortnight before they immediately dispatched the next disc. One other niggle is that you rarely seem to get your disks in the order that they appear in your wish-list but that doesn't really bother me.

Honestly can't see BusyBee lasting much longer if INFACT get involved because as mentioned in the original thread they rent out retail disks which is against their distribution deals and can see the studios blocking them/taking legal action. The other crowd MovieStar seem to be run by a group of chancers so I'd be very wary of dealing with them...

Di you see that they have extended the O2 1cent offer to the end of December.

I've dealt with Screenclick and had no problems.
Mind you that was before the O2 offer.

I cancelled the day before the extended the offer and they sent me e-mail saying i can still rent til December for no extra cost, dunno if its good or bad they didn't cancel me! Noticed that when i didn;t rent anything for 2 weeks for having empty wishlist and then put in same stuff again, i got top of list!
