Am trying to sell a book on ebay, ive set the start price as £4 and the reserve price as £5, but when i tried to 'save and continue' it's saying i have to enter a reserve price of atleast £50. ???. So i was completly confused so i clicked on help, and its telling me that if the highest bid doesnt reach the reserve price then i dont have to sell it to the highest bidder. It wont let me continue unless i put in atleast £50. Am so confused, wouldnt it put some one bidding if the reserve price was so high? ahhh the confusion, btw as you can probably tell am fairly new to the whole ebay thing. Can anyone please help?

I think the reserve price is only for higher priced items as far as I know, not too sure but there might be a minimum item value (ie.£50) to allow you to place a reserve on the auction.

Don't use a reserve price. It puts people off even bidding.

Your putting the item in @ E4 and want a reserve of E5? How does that make sense? Why not just start it at E5?!

I've seen reserve prices for items in and around the $20 mark...but maybe the US system is different
