Hardware Audits

    Hi all,

I need to run a hardware/Software Audit across a number of different sites, some of which have only one PC and others which have maybe 3 or 4 PCs.

Unfortunaltly none of these PCs are members of a domain and to make matters worse some dont even have internet access.

Does anyone know/Use an Audit tool that would be of use, preferably free but paying is an option.

Something like Belarc but where we could send all the info to a DB for analysis after. Also alot of the user's wouldn't be technically inclined so a click and forget option would suit.

Any recommendations? ir does anyone know any companies that do this for a living?
    Thanks

If you want the users to do it and mail you the results you could just use MSINFO32
    msinfo32 /report c:\filename.txt

[edit]There's an option to export to an XML file too - which may be suitable for importing to a DB.

For software you could use sysinternals
psinfo -s (there is a CSV option too)

not sure if you can do a command line export from CPUZ
there are plenty of similar utils to enumerate the PCI bus etc.
the real trick is getting them with a CSV format which you can then import

Some commercial packages have propietry data bases so unless it supports all your queries are worse that a text file
