Please for the love of God can someone record this and make it available!
Reporter: How do you feel about how that last headsup hand played out?

Chief: I feel good. I had loads of outs but the guy just couldn't see them.

    :D

Slightly off topic, but I heard last week that the Chief believes that he was christened 'The Chief' by someone who is not Rounders. I won't name this other person, yet at least, who may or may not have helped the chief to come to this conclusion. When he becomes famous then it might become a bone of contention.

Are you sure your not a Solicitor??

I know I had the honor of explaining his nickname to him. I mean for the love of god he is the spit of Roy Scheider, which I am only just getting over, but Rounders is the man, it was a brillant nickname.

No lose gamble didn't pay off Olly, as "McMasters" as I believe the Chief calls him has owned up to it.

funny story from last night in red cow, the chief was playing away and someone mentioned the programme on 425 and that they had seen it.
Player A" hi chief they were all calling you a fish you know"
Chief " What the hells a fish?"
Me " i think its to do with the jaws reference maybe?"
    Chief " oh right"

I LOLed for quite a while thinkin about that!

No problem Dave but as we all know here i named him Chief Brody months before he made his fitz debut. My fault i didnt put a copyright on it like ianmc suggested!.

Yeah Norwich Fan Rob i seen you on 854, youre full of sh!t lol! jopkeing!. Its a great programme that poker 425(it keeps the name because it used be on p425!). Others interviewed was Luke, Reyes, and David Lyons a very nice guy with funny views of the game wwho i remember offering a chop in the fitz scalps when he was CL. I spotted MickL in the background acting the bollix with some lounge boy coming up the stairs!!
The chief admitted in his interview "I might have got some cards which i suppose shouldnt have won but did!". "But i played...i felt i played the best"!

Such a slanderous comment! I'd never take credit for such a thing! Although i was talking to the chief during the week and he was telling me that his son has been reading boards for the last couple of months and never realised that his own dad was the one and only!! He start telling him about all the things that were posted and how much of a legend is on here and he was chuffed to bits!!

that david lyons guy said in his interview of how he folded KK pre flop, i was sitting on his right, a young shorty, who had just come to the table, had about 5 bbs left, pushed, lyons dwelt and folded, i thought for a while and reluctantly passed A9 cause a few still to act, others passed, lyons goes on about how he had KK and cant call, i said to young lad, u never have AA there , he replies, god no, lyons is still convinced he had AA.
A little later i get AA, another guy shoves in utg+2, lyons again passes ,i obv call, vs K8 and win nicely, lyons had passed JJ, near the bubble hes almost blinded out, finally pushes, bb has to call, as its about 2 bbs more, lyons is gutted, reckons hes in troubles, tables QQ, lol.............the guy is tighter than the tightest tight thing u can think of, i couldnt believe some of his play, seems like a really nice guy though.

the prog is on every night this week, they start off reviewing the london club , then move onto the dublin game at about 11.15.

I think he prides himself on big folds. He can be as loose as hell though as i was on his table one night all throughout the fitz scalps game. He embraced the bubble that night anyway and 4 handed he was CL and suggested we discuss a deal(and agreed to an equal chop) because he didnt want 4th to go home with just €400. Sometimes he decided to raise before he even got his cards and similar crazy stuff but theres some method to his madness. A very nice chap.

Sorry lads id like to get it done but its not as easy as it seems. Its on a dvd-rw but its not an mpeg movie file and to convert i'd need software and its proving too difficult and im feeling inferior just trying. So as homer says "If at first you dont succeed never try again!"

    sorrry:o

Rarely vintage on a midweek EL Stuntman, just the S.A Nederburg tonite!.

To find myself described as "tighter than..." and a "nice guy".... thanks!

In fact, the reason for the big laydown of KK was because there were 10 spots paid and 14 players left. Anyone who has played with me knows I avoid going out on or close to the bubble if I can avoid it. I just like to make the money because I don't play that often. The guy to my right was pretty good player and was also bubble-aware so I had to put him on an ace.

If I called (with my mega short stack) and there were 2 or 3 other callers and at least one Ace - a virtual certainty - then my chance of getting knocked out might be 30% or even higher if there were suited or low connecters calling. Intolerable in my view, as I play so few tournaments and value making the money so much.

Anyone who has played with me throughout a tournament knows I can be anything but tight - ask Vivian how many times he's seen me play J8o. However, I do "pride myself" on big laydowns and think they are an important part of the game, particularly in the later stages. They are CRITICAL on the bubble. This was the toughest close-bubble I ever played, I was super short stacked and was playing suicidally tight. I pulled it off - just and eventually made 6th (didn't win a hand on the final table).

And yes, I was CL - not massively - when I offered that chop a month or two ago. For the record, the prizes were 2k, 1k, 600, 400. We chopped at 1k each. When a four way chop gives you second place, then no complaints from me! For the record, I place in just about 25% of the tourneys I play in the Fitz (based on last 4 years records).

    Re: DVD

Rounder123 - can I get a copy of the DVD from you? I have the gadgets to copy it (and upload it if required by others). I'll get it back to you no problem.

    Cheers,

    David Lyons

PS I'm just back from a 5 day stag in Vegas. Did OK at NL 2-5 until I saw AsQs in late spot. Raise to 15 by serial bluffer. I called as did 4 others (!). Flop comes Qd 10s 4s. Top pair, top kicker, nut flush draw. Bluffer bets 50 at me (pot about 90) and I go over the top. He calls and turns over Q 10 offsuit. Exit Dave.

Just rip the dvd and convert it to an avi using winavi or something similar. You can lower the quality in order to downsize the file. Really basic stuff.

If you need any instructions pm me.

There's loads of detailed guides here:

Lads im just after trying the rip software Ian directed me to(thanks for that). Bit embarased to say ive just watched and fast forwarded through the show and the fitz slot doesnt feature:confused:
I actually watched it monday and taped it tuesday. The tuesday airing wasnt the same as monday for whatever reason. Im nearly sure they run the same show mon-fri but definately not this time.

    Sorry about that David.

As a possible saver you could ask at Tikay atBlonde and maybe he could sort you out because its his and Colcloughs programme and im sure they record them all and have loads of friends there that could convert?
