    All,

How about this for a night out

Meet in Clontarf for a few drinks at 8.

Into the Dracula experience at 9.30

Food in Barcode at 10ish, then karaoke in there too. After that I think there's a nightclub in barcode if we can all stand to look at each other after a rousing session of 'Ghostbusters'

    Saturday October 7th.

Based on 15 people going the cost would be 16euro for tour, food and karaoke

So who is up for it?

Go on, don't leave me singing 'I will survive' (it won't be pretty)

    Ladybird

So is that a yes you'll go then - go on you know you want to

Ghost bus was great - there was a thread around somewhere but the evil Steven moderator person(only joking Stevie boy) might have moved it by now

BarCamp - explain. Are you around the 7th of October - we can always move it out to then, I think both dates suit mostly everyone

It's a big technology conference in Cork.

    http://barcamp.org/BarCampIreland

The 7th should be fine for me though... do they really do karaoke in Barcode? I really can't imagine it fitting in.

That looks cool - I wouldn't mind going to that myself

The karaoke is part of the tour epxerience so I assume it's in a side room after the tour as opposed to being in the nightclub area

I'll put you down so as going- good man - practice in Cork

I don't want to commit to it because everytime I try going to something, something always comes up, but all going well I should be able to make it.

    Right so boys and girls

    So far we have

    Stevenmu
    6th
    Monkeyfudge
    Imprezza
    Gillo(maybe)
    Malico
    Ladybirdirl

Much as I'm sure you all have great...vocal chords(I know what you were all thinking) 6/7 people would not be a large enough group for Karaoke I think.

    So tour :9.30
    Date October 7th
    Food at 10
karaoke - if we have enough there
Cost will depend on whether or not we do the karaoke but should be around 15-20 euro

who knows a good pub in Clontarf to meet in?

    Ladybird:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

The Grainger's Pub there on the malahide road might be the best bet... it's about a 5 minute walk to the Westwood Gym where the Dracula Experience is and it's right next to a Number 27 bus stop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Yeah Graingers is a nice spot. As long as its not showing sport!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 139 ✭✭secrecy_ie

think I am still a bit too new here for a meet. Enjoy yourselves though - ye all seem to meet up quite a bit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

secrecy its up to you but sure if not now when? I was only on here a couple of months when i had my first meet (i organised it infact).

Its an awkward 30 secs then everything is fine, fun even.

Ah yeah I know, not exactly a shy person anyway, I just had a few really bad experiences with meeting people off the internet when I was younger that I just want to wait till I feel ready, comfortable and know ye all a bit better, with all these investigations that ye do though I should be tempted at some point!

Hiya, I just pm'd you and said basically what 6th said. I only met these crazies a few weeks ago and they are a great bunch(don't get big headed you lot). That's part of my reason for organising this - to get more of the newbies in - I think there's one or two other newbies going. With it not being at an investigation where you're staying overnight, it might be a bit easier I thought.

so would love to see you if you want to come, else we'll see you at something soon

    Ladybird:)

I'll back what 6th and Ladybird both said, it's a great way to meet posters here, it's also very informal. You go along, meet a few people and have a drink or two.

There is no need to be shy, that said it's only natural to be shy, but anyone I met at previous meet's (all two of them) has been sound.

    Ok so now we have

    Stevenmu
    6th
    Monkeyfudge
    Dib(maybe)
    Gillo(maybe)
    Imprezza
    Malico
    Stoner
    Ladybirdirl

    Come on guys and gals!

Graingers pub first........I have to meet one/all of you lot in town as I have no clue as to where that is (southsider!)

    Ladybird:)

    Two questions

    1. What time you all meeting up then?

    2. How much is it?

I'm thinking about it and if it's not too early on Sat may be able to go.

Everything is there in the first post except the name of the pub that we are meeting in... which is Graingers on the Malahide road.

Just made a up little map that everyone might find helpful.

I can't drink on the night either.

I'm on these anti-biotics and there's a 50/50 chance that booze might kill me or something.

Aww bummer dude. I had a song picked out for you - Miami sound Machine - Dr. Beat(in keeping with your just released from hospital, get it:p )

We will mind you if you feel up to coming along and laughing at us, come to think of it though, laughing at 6th and Steven could cuase you to burst stitches or something.

So mind yourself and be sure to cheer on Munster tonight.

Dr Beat would be a good one alright since its a dodgy heart beat that i have.

I hope you all behaved yourselves

Well right, seeing as all my 'friends' didn't bother to post about the night I will.

So we all met in Graingers - (which is a good pub if you're out that way) Stevie boy(oh I'm not supposed to call him that, apparently he reckons he's a serious moderator type) So Steven was drinking some weird Guiness brew which was apparently nice in there so check it out all you guiness drinkers.

anyway, off we went to Barcode. It's the strangest set up I've ever seen. you take off on a mystery tour of the building to find the entrance to the Dracula Experience which we eventually found. We were never asked to pay so we didn't but that will become clear.

Some auld lad was at the door and he was quite funny explaining all about the tour. So we started walking down this corridor which had a lock of bram Stoker's hair in a glass case(al togehter Eew:eek: ).Then you have to go through this tunnel thing that moves(which I was planning on being carried across)

anyway, next thing all the lights go out, we thought it was part of the show. But it turned out that it was a power cut in the whole building. So the guy at the start of the tour says carry on, we kept walking and met another guy. He said we could only stay downstairs which we did and had a wander around the animatronic stuff. I was checking out some room and next thing yer man the steward appears out of nowhere(I kid you not) I screamed, he laughed, the boys rolled their eyes at me.

so that ended up being the end of the Dracula experience which really was a pity. Oh we had to get out down a fire escape and there was this enormous tour guide at the bottom who was from some Eastern European country. He should have been doing the tour, he had the most fabulous accent, all Transylvanian.

After that we got a bus into town (with vomit on it - at 10.00 in the evening!) and went drinking and begged 6th to stop singing

So everyone who attended had a good night I think and all you who didn't turn up you're in my bad books(scared now aren't ye:rolleyes: )

    Ladybird

Ps - oh and we did actually all behave, well except for 6th running like a girl for a taxi but that's a moment captured on film

we did a small tour of the northside(well the walk past Fairview park anyway), got the vomit bus and went drinking.Oh and had fabulous chips in Burdock's (though just to let you all know 6th and Steven eat an awful lot! And 6th builds forts out of his food... I'm talking chips in the burger:p )

Lots of men happen to run like girls, there's nothing in it, some men look a little bandy when they run too, that also means nothing.

That's the guy alright. There were a bunch of tables blocking the bottom of the emergancy exit and he moved them for us. Good thing it was a black out and not a fire.

It's true what they say then, that we all are connected to everyone else in the world in some way........only 8 people apart or something like that!
Next time I talk to him I'll ask if he noticed a girly running man, a screaming woman and someone singing a monkey song?

    :)

Oh there's something in it with 6th alright, this was after he sang his head of all night and don't even get me started on what he was drinking.

Actually the only thing that stops him being a girl(apart from the obvious) is that his moobs are too firm, ther's no real jiggle in them
