    Hi
I am thinking of trading in my old car and buying an new Audi A6Lovely car but a few things are worring me like not many of them on the road , why is that ?
Also, standard equipment seems a bit odd for a car of this price range like radio system only has speakers in front and option of an upgrade is either 800 or 1800 extra just seems strange to me.
So has anyone got one or any info would be appreciated

    Thanks

Have you seen how many BMW 5's there is on the road.

I was in Dundalk last night and counted six of them.

Far better car in my opinion.

There is two A6's parked outside here.

Nice car but still prefer the BMW.

Ill never be able to afford it though :D

there is nothing wrong with an A6... people just have no imagination and have to have a BMW badge.......

i don't think having no rear speakers is a real issue... just get some fitted afterwards if you really need them. It'll probably cost less than €800.

That's just a marketing ploy to get you to spend more money.

I would look into that spec again, Audis usually have fairly compentent audio systems and the a6 are usually well speced.

I can't believe it doesn't have rear speakers. The last car I was in that didn't have them was a 1997 Ford Escort!

I see from audi.ie that the position is exactly as you say though. Strange, bizarre, and plain wrong for such an expensive car.

Its the same in the new golfs.

Maybe you should go up a trim level.

I drove the '5 and A6 and prefer the BMW am afraid.

3.0TDi is nice compared to the 525d but nicer feel to the BMW

lads... you are all so caught up in "being materialistic" that more of you will upgrade and spend more money than will pull out of a sale!!

anyway.. compare the price with the ugrade the price of a 5 series and it's probably the same or less so no difference.

i thought the entry level a6 is only about 46 k or something which would be alot less than a entry level 5 series.

From memory I think the entry level is the 2.0 diesel which if your not looking to be particularly sporty is a very well built and discreet looking car.

for a big basic car the a6 looks responsibly good value probably wont get your heart racing . i say it position to pick up the company exec market . just under sub 50000euro and a diesel that probably comes in what 475 euro a month for the lease which would make it could value as a fleet car.

the new s80 basic model is now 51000 euro but does come with a 2.5 litre . Only a 4 NCAP Crash rating for a new a volvo that can be right? ford must be really on the cutbacks.

Its something thats wrong alright but if you were to order an A6 now it will come with rear speakers. PM me Stan if you are considering buying new. R.O.D

    you can either

    - not care and just buy the car
    - upgrade and still spend less than a 5 series.. and they get more money and more customers because the initial price was lower
    - buy it and upgrade it in any audio shop for less than they will charge you, if you really feel strongly about it.

I personally wouldn't give two hoots if the car had 2 or 4 speakers.
