Aggghhhhhh My 360 is dead!!!

    My 360 has those 4 red rings.When I turn it on it keeps freezing and sometimes it wont even turn on and the 4 red rings flash.Will I be able to get it repaired/replaced

    if that don't work.

    Phone MS and they should send UPS to collect it, repair it and send it back.

    Mine also died after 8 months of use - got the three rings all red but the upper right quadrent - Its gotten progresively worse, sometime it would work, sometimes not, then it froze in most games after any from 2 mins to 60 mins - now it pretty much never starts.

    I got it on launch day so I'm guessing that the first batch are none too reliable but with a one year warrentee I'll send it back to MS for repair - I'm on vacation in Singapore at the moment, so might pick up an asia on and sell the Pal one upon repair - avail of those cheap import prices for the games

    Mayshine, try and pick up a Japanese one and then that's a fail safe option. Asian 360's wont play Japanese games but the opposite works meaning the Japanese consoles will play the asian games.

    mine was the same. the error is for things not being plugged in right, but if everything's fine on the surface a port is broken, so you just get MS to take it off you and they'll send you back a refurbished one in a week or so

    I rang microsoft and they said to send it to them by UPS but there are only 4 UPS drop off centres in ireland and they are in Cork, Clare and 2 in Dublin and i dont live near any of them so i will bring it back to gamestop and hopefully they will be able to do something

    I had the 3 red rings lit (all except the top right) and the girl on the phone said it's a graphics card issue (though not sure she knew what she was talking about). UPS picked it up yesterday so hopefully i won't have too long a wait.

    i think if all 4 lights are lit then it's a cable or connector issue.

    you can phone UPS and they will collect from your house - thass what i did and they came yesterday

    I don't think thats true, the 360 system here in Singapore is NTSC-J and will play any NTSC-J designated game which include the Japanese imports. Even went to a Japanese department store (takashimya) which sell Jap PS2s any they say the same :D

    Try and do a search because I posted something I found about Japanese and Asian 360s just before I planned to buy an Asian 360. It turned out a lot of sites gave me the same information about what I said. Also PS2s are different consoles.

    As far as i can remember..they just need your name and address, possibly serial number of the box ....

    The call center is in London (or just outside) ..and the box's go to Germany for repair/replace

    I just sent mine off for the FIFTH time last week. Each machine had different problems.

    I got mine on the launch day and to be honest I've never even gotten into playing it as its been with MS so much.

    I have been told I'm getting a new one back and when I do its going on either ebay.ie or adverts.ie along with all my games and accessories.

    My Xbox died last night for the second time :mad:

    The three "dreaded" flashing lights, I am so annoyed. I rang MS today, they are sending out the UPS box last time it took about a week to get it back so hopefully I get it back in time for PRO EVO 6 which is just over a week away.

    I've sent my third 360 the week before last but havent recieved my replacement yet. I think I will buy a new one next year when the cooler processor is being used.
