The last one works really well, the lighting really makes the shot. Nice set of pictures. Good work.

great work as ever fajitas, I do have a preference to the last 2, the 3rd especially, looks great, what were you using?

    Thanks :)

Was using my 30mm 1.4 for all of the ones there, was swapping between that and my 105mm 2.8, shooting on aperture priority, around the 2.0 - 2.8 mark @ 1600iso.

Last one is probly my favourite of the night, I love the eye contact between Leanne and her bassist.

1.4 <drools> 30mm <drools>. did you use any noise ninja or the like on them?

Nope, only post processing was curves on them, or in the case of the B&W ones, channel mixer and curves. I was using a custom WB though, set for the start of the gig...Halfway through the second band, the lighting changed, and I had forgotten about the WB...Hence some of the B&W shots being black and grey rather than black and white :(

Lovely set Faj. It's the second and fourth for me. Nothing like a lead singer with the owl hand in the air trick. Works every time :p

I love the second one. Some text and that could make a great gig poster ;)

Too much black for a gig poster, a background to an article on the band however...

Brilliant set of shots. 2nd and 4th also my favourites.

    some critique for you

    1) a bit too much dark space and the facial expression isn't all that flattering

    2) b&w converiosn on the face still looks a little underexposed, maybe just brighten the face up

    3) interestoing arty shot, would be nice to see more definition of the shape of the persons head and of the guitar neck but probably difficult to do this without lots of ps work

    4) not much i'd change apart from maybe a little bit of shadow-highlight tool on their faces. it looks like the head of the bass is in focus and the faces are slightly out of focus

just trying to give some constructive criticism

3rd is my favourite - just love the way the colours are specific to certain parts of the body/gear.

Exactly what I was looking for :) Will give them a play about with tonight, thanks Dot!

Never even thought of bringing out face more in it stupidly enough - looking forward to working on that one.

The third, I had did focus on the head of the bass, I think I have one with the face in focus somewhere, but with the bass outa focus, and at f/1.8, it looks kinda rough! I'll see what I can do though - Cheers.
