insurance

    hey guys i went down to my insurance guy the last day to put my dslr and my g4 mac laptop on the house insurance. now they said i cant put it down untill i get my camera quoted same with my laptop.

    how the feck do i do this, nobody will price it for me i even rang a dude in cork he said i cant quote a 20d.
    what should i do?
    i want to put it down on the house insurance so that the folks will pay for and not me hehe.

    also im going traveling to brazil thailand and oz in 6 months what travel insurance should i get.
    any info would be great thanks.

    What travel insurance you get depends on what you'll be doing, but for me I'll only ever go with the BMC, their £5000 body recovery cover sells it every time :D
    Not cheap, but if you have a penchant for getting yourself in trouble like me it's a nice safety blanket.

    Ah right, I thought you were looking for general travel insurance for the trip, not specific camera insurance. My bad :o Your gear is included for theft only, if you drop it, tough luck!
    I think a crowd in Swords called PJT do camera insurance.

    Ring or email Conns cameras in town. I had to get prices from them to get the camera put on the house insurance. Ask them to write you a letter (2 copies) stating the value of each camera item. They'll want the serial numbers.

    Send one to the insurance company. They charged me €15 for the letters.

    Not sure what to do about the mac laptop though.
