According to David Yarnton, the General Manager of Nintendo UK, the Wii will be going on tour across the UK and Ireland very soon. The console will be visiting a whole host of venues in cities all over the two countries very soon and we fully expect the same to happen throughout Europe. Speaking in an interview with Cubed³ on Friday afternoon, Mr. Yarnton confirmed that there would be a Wii Roadshow that would go "north, south, east and west" and that more details would be available soon.

As Mr. Yarnton emphasised, the key factor in marketing the Wii is to get people playing the console and understanding what it is all about, but Nintendo don't want demo units tucked away in store corners. The roadshow will give the company a chance to explain how to play the Wii to people and also to do some major promotion and advertising for the company.

Sounds good, we'll get to try before wii buy! :D

Where do people reckon it'd be? A small section of the RDS maybe?

Nah, more like Shopping Centres. On a grander scale.

I believe the DS roadshow took place in Blanchardstown before it was released, so perhaps there.

It (the DS roadshow) was in Stephen's Green Shopping Centre as far as I remember, not sure where else though; I think they were in a lot of HMV's in the UK too..

Lovely Jubbly, Wii gaming here we come, time to send the nay-sayers back where they came from, or perhaps the PS3 fanboys have a road show of their own, no? Aw, how sad.

I cant wait to get Wii in my hands!

Hopefully the games that could go either way, such as Red Steel will be playable, so I can make my decision on whether to get it or not. :)

Yeh I remember that, they had a pretty big stall on the 1st floor where you could play all the games they had released at that time. IIRC that was after the DS was released though....

It's only €16 in to it..question is, is it worth that to play the Wii. I might just wait til the roadshow comes to a shopping centre.

Is there a list of venues up yet? Where did you hear that the RDS will get it first?

    Thanks!

i'd recommend coming on the friday - it's the quietest, sat and sun are manic and for the true fans (like the posters here I assume) it'll be the best opportunity to have a good look at it.
