Weird drag & drop issue

Normally, when you drag a file from somewhere and drop it on a folder, it cuts the file and pastes it into the folder (well at least it always did for me..). Is there any way to get it to cut instead of copy?
I know I could right click and cut or ctrl+x, but it's just a bit annoying is all.

Hold shift while you do the drag and drop.
