Medion dvd burner

Hi Can any body help me? I just got a new Medion DVD burner but I can't seem to get it to work properly! :mad: My pc just freezes after it has written 1% (or so it says!) The pc recognises that it is there but doesn't seem to write to the dvd?? i'm going crazy please help.

Will it read any other sort of media or is it just when burning? Post some specs of your current system.
