Is anyone here working in the KClub for the Ryder Cup? If so does anyone know what the transport arrangements are? I live 5 miles from KClub - got a job which is providing transport from Newbridge, but nowhere else? Do I really have to travel to Newbridge only to take a bus which brings me back to the Kclub or is there another way? Cant use park and ride as i do not hold a valid ticket? Any ideas?

Is you job actually at the Rider cup?

If not you are beine prevented from going to and from home and work. go and see a solicitor and sue them for nuisance and loss of earnings. I cant believe this sh1he! WE are getting worse than the US! I respect some minor traffic problems etc. for a big event but telling local residents where they can and they cant go outside their door is not on!

contact one of your local TD's. I heard Emmet Stagg giving out about it on the radio this week. call the dail and ask for himn and if he is not there say why you called iand get him to call back. Ask for the number of his constituency office and call that as well.

If you are working in the K Club for the event then you probably know about the staff compound. All contractors are encouraged to use this. Bit of a pain in the ass but it cuts down on the hassel of travel. A limited number of vehicle passes will be available I think.
I'm stuck on site from 17th-25th :( Travelling in and out all week so far.

Thanks for the replies guys. I am actually working for the ryder cup in the one of the bars. Got an email from the agency yesterday to say that i must either travel to newbridge or use the south park and ride at johnstown. As I d not hold an actual ticket it seems that i must either get dropped off at johnstown or else get a taxi to drop me off there. I had kind of resigned myself to using a park and ride but was hoping to do so from Weston which is just down the road from celbridge bur it seems now that all staff have to use Johnstown which is too far out of my way to use - its acrazy situation. Have spent the last ear or so putting up with roadworks while travelling daily from clane to celbridge and now this. I was so looking forward to working at the Kclub but it is just too much hassle. Nobody seems to know about using the contractors compound - have tried to get information but i keep hitting a brick wall. When I originally took the job the agency seemed to think that you could be dropped at barberstown castle and walk from there - which was fine. And to think I took holidays from work for this!! Thanks anyway
