some sort of registry problem

so I recently used sd4hide on my computer. its a program that temporarily suspends the registry and hides virtual drives for playing backed up games and the like. anyways, the computer crashed while i was using teh tool anmd now my computer has some errors on it. basically, when i start up the computer recognises only 2 out of my 3 hard drives; the primary master and primary slave. it doesn't recognise the secondary master. in order for it to recognise the secondary master hd i have to shut down my system, unplug the drive and then plug it in again, then restart. its a little strange.

another thing is that when i start up windows, every time, the initial screen - the one showing my bios etc - is positioned over to the right. the detection screen is fine, but then the black windows screen is also repositioned to the right. its very strange.

right after the crash my primary slave drive needed to be reformatted as widows informed me that the drive was not formatted and gave me the option of formatting it, which i did. the thing is that the drive was properly formatted before the crash, indeed it had a load of stuff on it. which was subsequently lost.

any help with this would be much appreciated.

    cheers,
    pinky.

Can you use system restore to before you used sd4hide?

no. i recently reformatted my whole computer, only a few weeks ago. actually about a month now at this stage. but there are no system restore points available. which sucks.

Can you get into safe mode, tap F8 at startup and select Command Prompt from the menu, then type scanreg /restore. That will restore a copy of your registry from before you made those changes perhaps. That might help otherwise it might be the best thing to format actually, if there is any data you need then pop it into another computer if possible and get the data you want off it.

roysh, win xp doesn't have the scanreg /restore thing, thats 2000/98. so i just reformatted and it fixed the problem. also, the reason my screen was skewed was because my monitor wasn't set on auto. cos i'm an idiot. touché.
