They have arrangements with the University of California, IIRC.

There are for JS students I think.

Last year there def was an exchange for Englsih to Cali.

However, if you take that option, you might have to swtich to a single honors degree.

I wanted to go to BC, but I would have to have done straight business, and dropped economics.

They have info meetings around about Jan/Feb, I think, so you'd go to one in your second year and sort stuff out for your JS (third) year. As far as I know you can go to any of the UC (University of California) colleges (Berkeley, Davis, LA, etc) and I don't think it's overly difficult to get a place. There are conditions about having passed all your exams et al, but that's about it. Other colleges it depends on how many students from there are coming over to TCD that year, it's a one-for-one exchange so there might only be one or two places available in that particular college. I've never heard of anyone (in English, at any rate) who really wanted to go on an exchange and couldn't because the college wouldn't let them. If you're set on it, you shouldn't have a problem.

I'm fairly keen on heading away in third year. Theres not much information from the Business school/facultly about it anywhere. Thanks for explaining the BC by the way.

It's easier to get the US college of your dreams if your marks are better than the other ppl who want to go, but like it was said upthread nearly everyone who wants to go gets to go.
