Computer Freezes After Boot Up

After I boot-up my PC and log into my account (Windows XP Home) straight away the system freezes. But if I wait a few minutes before logging in its fine. I think its the sound card thats the problem, I have a Creative Audigy 2 Platinum. I got a new system built recently and took the sound card out from my old system where it was happening also and now its happening in my new system so I'm pretty sure its the sound card thats the problem. I thought before it was the PCI slot that was causing the problem but I've ruled that out now cause its happening in the new system.

Anyone got any ideas as to what is happening?

Remove the sound card and make sure it is the problem. If the hangup goes away, uninstall all the sound card drivers, reboot, then install the latest drivers from Creative. Then add the card again.
