I just came back from 5 weeks training in Tiger Muay Thai, i posted a review of it under a review Millionaire had done of Craig O Flynns(sp?) place.

Tiger is a great spot for someone looking to get a good base in Muay Thai like I was. However its mainly non fighters who train there. If you have a few years experience in MT i would definitly echo Paddy C's advise and go rural. Theres also a place called Rawai gym on the island that has a more serious training philosophy. The training in Tiger is excellent, many of the trainers spent years on the Bangkok circuit; however theres too much catering to bone idle tourists in the camp who only want to train at a very low pace. Its also filled with first timers. I was lucky in that i got a fantastic coach, with good english, who wasnt going to accept less then 100%.

As for Phuket; ita a dive! Full of fat ignorant sex tourists and should be avoided like the plague if not there to train!
