    Good day ppl,

About three weeks ago i dislocated, chipped the bone and strained my ankle. It is gradually getting better and im hoping to get back to light jog in a week or so. I want to get a support that will help hold the ankle in place. I was thinking one with splints in it but cant find a decent one in dublin. I play basketball so have alot off twisting and impact on the ankle. Can anyone recommend a good support? And where to get it?

    N.

I know you can get sort of lace up ones. No splint but sum1 I know with ankle problems wears them. Only place I can think of that you'd find them is Elverys on Sullfox St. Actually the person I know (kinda) wears them for basketball.

Personally I think either the regular elastic ones you can get in any pharmacy are the business. If you don't fell secure with one of them I doubt you should be running just yet.

Anyway try to pay attention to how you run, that your foot isn't at a funny angle or anything cause you dont want to end up with further probs down the track

I dont think you have rested for long enough at all
I badly sprained mine 2 years ago and it was at least 6 months before I was able to do anything with it
After that I would tape it up with some leukotape or something, will give it more protection that a support will.
After that maybe move to a regular support but make sure you are fully warmed up before you try any sort of running.
Also probably need to RICE it after any excercise for a while.

I know its going to be tender and weak but im not sitting out the start of the season cause of that. Got myself a support off the net. Seems fine havent used it yet thou..
