wp eoghan, many runners? what was the payout like?

I played the jackpot, 28 runners so was down on recent weeks. Pretty uneventful evening, i was completely card dead all night and folded my way to the FT with 2 double ups along the way.
Busted out 7th when my attempted stop & go with KJs on a A102 flop ran into K2 for a pair of deuces
Top 5 paid, Luckylloyd was still hanging around with 6 left and a very playable stack

i was card dead myself all night
busted out in 12th, called a raise with 7-7 in the small blind
i planned to push if the flop cames rags, flop comes 9-5-2 or something similar,
i pushed, the guy thinks for a while and calls me with qq and that was the end of that

Managed a three way split - short end of it for me and other short stack (who was chip leader going in to final table). Guy who took down the lion's share had a monster stack and was playin really well after benefitting from a massive donation at the final table. If you're reading mate (didn't catch your name) - very well played.

    MDWEXFORD:

It was I who called you with the Queens. You made a great play; obviously gambling on the fact that I had non - paired face cards. However, I saw the ideal flop for my holding and I had to call. Was a nice move though..;)

thanks mod and hard luck yourself. There was 55 runners and the standard was decent with all very solid players on the FT including Kevin Farrelly. The payout was crazy....... 9th to 6th got 75 and 5th 100!!! crazy! first was 1200 and in the end i split it with another young guy at 3 oclock with average stack about 10 bbs!!! we got 900 each so not bad. Was happy with my play and was never all in when behind all night so happy enough!

Played the Jackpot tournament. I was disapointed with the structure - No 75/150 or 150/300 level.

My play was absolutely horrendous. I can't remember playing as bad. I lost my first 4K in the first hand on a complete bluff thinking my opponent could fold even though he had more than half his stack in the middle.

Did they give any reasons why they removed those levels from the structure?

glad to be able to put a face to the name luckylloyd
i planned to get away from the hand if the flop came high
but that flop was about as good as it gets for pocket 7's, exactly what i was hoping for
glad you put the chips to good use anyway m8

the guy that won came up with us, you're right though he got some donations at the final table, everyone just gave him their chips

    Plus 25 minute levels after the break. Plus blinds go from 1,000 -2,000 to 2,000 - 4,000 (where is 1,500 - 3,000?).

It's not ALL it's cracked up to be then. However, for €100 there is still a lot of play compared to some of the other tourneys in Dublin. Not much more mind...

    Cheers man.

You have a good point - the flop was pretty much what you wanted to see aswell!! Sometimes there isn't much you can do eh..?

Your friend played a good game all night and deserved to win. However, the two maniacs were just giving him chips at the FT. Particularly your man's call after your mate had gone over the top of Harold all in; He only had middle pair with a 6 kicker on a 9-10-J Board  Madness

i know, that was shocking play
i thought he had 2 pair minimum when he called, then he turned over that rubbish. drawing pretty thin against q-q.
that other guy to your left at the final table was some ignorant muppet, ranting about no-one playing hands just cause he was playing like a loon.
then he offered my mate a deal of a monkey each and play for the rest, when he turned it down the guy said dead seriously "ill be waiting for you outside"
    pmsl what an idiot

Oh god yes. What an absolute tool. Have played against him before and he is just not a very nice individual. Turns into an absolute c*nt when things are going against him. Peter is his name. I couldn't believe that comment - disgraceful stuff.

ah mdwex, i was at your table all night, i was 2 to your right i think for most of it, you probably wont remember me as i wasnt particularly active! unbelievable how card dead i was, i was pissed off cos it was the perfect table to get paid off on all night but i never caught a break

UL with the 77, cant really get away there, just UL it wasnt AK you were facing.
thats the first time the levels were reduced to 25min as far as i rem.

that FT was very soft, some very dodgy plays

    anyway, wp lloyd & md

i remember you alright mod, you were the youngish guy right in the middle of the table if i remember correctly
you were more active than me anyway mate, jesus i got dreadful cards
you did well to make the final table considering how few hands you got
it was defo a nice table to get paid on, pity we couldnt get a few hands early on when the table was really crazy

im happy with the way i played the 7's, as you say if it was ak instead of qq i would have taken down the pot

final table was a joke, ppl giving away chips right left and centre

Wasn't like that last week...what a pity. Though it has to be said, when the FT formed last week at 1am, anyone who was working in the morning (not me!) was dreading how much play was left in the tournament, they were actually asking the TD to either a) remove chips or b) shorten / eliminate some of the blind levels!

I loved the structure, have to say.
