Depends what subject it is. The SU Bookshop on the first floor of House 6 always has loads of second-hand books for a lot of courses at the beginning of the year so it's well worth checking out before you go spending a fortune somewhere else.

Otherwise I like Hodgis Figgis (sp?). But that's just me.

tbh it completely depends on your course.

what are you going to be studying?

if your going to be doing deaf studies, you can have mine for free!

Ditto, they just have everything! Eason though across the road are known at times to do deals on paired books. This'll be mentioned by whoever is suggesting you buy the books.

After that I'd recommend amazon.co.uk, you can get some VERY good deals on second hand books from there too.

www.abebooks.com and www.ebay.ie can also result in cheap, cheap books.

All very good suggestions. Just be careful not to go out in a fit of enthusiasm and immediately buy up everything on whatever list they give you: depending on your course you may find you actually end up using c. 1.03 of the books...
