Sky Conway

I have read through all the previous threads about sky conway, but I'm still confused. I have just moved into a new apartment, and sky conway are the suppliers.
The selection of channels they give, seem to be sh!te. Apart from all the basics RTE1, RTE2, C4, TV3, TG4, the others are crap, that i would never watch.
We have our own sky box from the last place. Is there a way we can get normal sky through this crowd?
I know they offer sky digital, but that doesn't seem to include the some of the normal sky channels, like living T.V, or parmount.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    hey guys,
I started one of the original threads on Sky Connway and we still have terrible trouble with them. The quality is terrible, service from them even worse and channels come and go at will...
anyway they say they will provide sky digital through their service for the standard fee PLUS their standard fee (€15 for us) for their service charge...makes it about twice as expensive as sky now... Also i spoke with BSkyB and they say Sky Conway do not have a license to operate in the Republic of Ireland!!!!!

Check with management company to see if you can have a satellite dish on roof and cable run to your appt from risers (this is usually acceptable as it cant be seen from road or outside building). Otherwise check with NTL New buildings manager to see if they will service your building. Dont let the builders block this as they have no right to do so according to Irish Competition Authority as it is anti-competitive....
    Good luck!

Hi Guys, I have just moved into a new apartment in Naas. I wanted to bring my sky equipment with me. Sky Conway told me last week that is not a problem. I rang them today to organise installation and there is no answer just a machine. I tried emailing them from a link here and it caused my outlook to crash!

It really is frustrating as I know have no TV but still have to pay sky for the account. Has anyone any idea of how else I could contact this company?

Their web site is... http://www.geocities.com/elojc/ and it has some contact details.

IMO they are a shower of cowboys out for a quick buck with a sub-standard service.

It's confusing for customers with them having "Sky" in their name when mostly they just provide a cable TV service and have nothing to do with Sky.

An obsolete low quality cable TV service.

I've worked in buildings where Conways have been the television supplier.
In most of them they offer a cable service usually as suggested above, RTE, TV3,TnaG etc... But in some they will connect your appartment to their dish and multi switch system for an extra monthly charge on top of your Sky sub.
If the appartment has been let before theres always a chance that the sat feed is still there and you could (hypothetically speaking) connect your box yourself.
Anyway the managment company or letting agent would be the best person(s) to take this up with.
    Good luck.

thanks folks. I have that website JD and tried sending a mail, but it screwed up my outlook I was raging! I have tried phoning all day but all I got was a message service.

KBell I bought this apartment and two others from plans so there has never been a sat feed in them. I had an installer I know come out but he could not figure out the set up they put in.

Don't click on the email link as the web link is wrong - just type the address into your email client (i.e. the @skyconway.com address listed).

    hey folks.

Got sorted with Sky Conway. It took many more phonecalls to them and dealing with a very rude woman in the office.

They sent a tech out here. It took the chap over two hours to sort the thing as the cabelling was so poorly done and confusing to him.

On the upside he was very cute :D

Are they allowed use skys logo like that?

I'd be nearly confused as to think that this is a division of sky if I wasn't too aware.

I use sky conway as they had a deal with the developer. no problems with my sky digital signal using their equipment and install and I am here 2 years now. never use their seperate service though. only issue i really have is that they only ran 1 feed to the apartments so can't get sky+
