Is it just me, or do female celebrities tend to just look thin, as opposed to being fit, whereas men would do exercise that would make them look AND feel fit??

Ive noticed many lean female performers are great dancers, and great singers, as long as they dont do both at the same time

they seem to be gaspin for breath doin a dance

I think in general men want to look better and be fitter, and women jus wana look thin

    wha u think?

well it is more about the media's idea of what looks good as oppose to anything else. The general perseption of a good looking male body is a muscular one so this is the image a lot of men try and obtain, however a lot of the men will only concentrate on upper body exercises and being low in fat so they could be still lacking in overall fitness as tehy mightn't do any cardio or do any lower body workouts.
The general perseption of a good looking woman in the media is generally of just being skinny, most models for example are just tall and skinny so they generally can not allow them selves to go for a more overall atlethic look as it would generally make them to big for being a catwalk model, and as the media portray models as having the "perfect" female frame alot of other hollywood stars would go for this type of body

Its a relatively new thing though
if you look back to the original super models (Cindy Crawford, Daisy Fuentes) they all had lean, firm bodies
    Not skinny, fit.

Nowadays the ladies dont eat rather than work out.

Actually, it all depends on where and who you look at.

Some modern celeb ladies with killer bodies include Jennifer Garner, Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba, take your pick from the Pussy Cat Dolls, Monica Belluci etc.

It just that this type of look is few and far between.

Now look at the stereotype image of a "healthy" woman vs a "healthy" man, and also the stereo type image on a "sexually attractive" woman vs a "sexually attractive" man.

For the woman, it's always a thin bird.....then don't need to be toned for 99% of dudes to want to do them. However, for a man to get the lead role he's gotta have the six pack and those pecs better be good. For most women a sexy man means having some meat on his bones and a low bodyfat percentage.

If you put Jennifer Carner in a line up with the Tara Reids and Mischa Bartons most guys will not pick her ( there loss, more Jennifer for me i say ) but if you put Jude Law in a line up with Russel Crowe from Gladiator and Vin Disel then i guarantee you that boy won't even get a sniff of knicker.

It's is also worth noting that being "in shape" is not the same thing as being "healthy" not at all.

It's just people believe that being in good shape aesthetically means your healthy.

Not the case, by a long ways.

you see most celebs, esp singers, and your like omg, they look great, but when they sing live they're pantin like mofos

    Its like a healthy veneer

Alot of singers like Britney spears(in the prime of her career) would of been extremely fit.

It would be nearly immpossible to sing and dance and not pant like a rapist.

most of them dont sing live you muppets. are you actually trying to tell me they do those crazy energetic routines and still sound just like the track?
the energy goes on the show, not the musical talent

Believe it or not, if you never been on stage....it can be hot as **** up there.....really hot. I did a few gigs in some small venues with an old band, and while there was only a small ammount of houselights it was stupid warm....believe it or not i reckon that running, jumping, headbanging and screaming my lungs out did a lot for my cardio health at the time.

I shudder to think what it would be like under a full stage light set up of a professional production to a large scale.
