Necrophagist are playing the Voodoo Lounge on the 20th along with a gig in Cork on the 19th @ An Cruiscin Lan.

Not sure about the age limits though.

    Savage none the less.

I wonder what the new guitarist is like.

    I should be there

who cares?! Muhammed is all that we need! :p
i'm sure he's good, they wouldnt hire an average guitarist, especially not with the complexity and technicality of Necrophagists music

I couldn't make it to the gig gone by on the 20th there, but if anyone was, what did you think of it?? I absolutley love listening to their stuff on cd but how well could they reproduce the material live?

amazingly well. sound wasnt fantastic, but its the Voodoo, same old story. the gig was ****ing awesome; the only thing that surpassed the insane musicianship was the actual quality of the performance.
the crowd was great too, and after they finished we all stood around chanting for more, so they came back on for what i can only assume was an unplanned encore, and played Stabwound again.
they played all the songs i was looking forward to; Extreme Unction, Fermented Offal Discharge, Stabwound, Foul Body Autopsy, etc, but i thought Epitaph was one of the best songs on the night; it absolutely ****ing OWNED. all in all, the best €19 i've spent in a while. a mate of mine got one of Hannes' sticks (prick.. :p)

I was lucky enough to be in one of the bands (Revenant) that supported them at An Crúcisín Lán, Cork on Thursday. They were absolutely amazing. Being a drummer myself, I couldn't help but admire Hanne's sheer speed! He was nice enough to leave me use his bass drum triggers and module too! Overall, it was an excellent gig!

    Digi.

Agree, f*ckin incredible gig, some real good moshing going on, and hats off to the guy who jumped off the stage and went crowd surfing, even if it was just 5 guy running around with him more or less. Although wasnt the encore Mutilate the Stillborn?

I only arrived at 10pm, for the Dublin gig, so I only seen half of one of the support bands (they were pretty good though), still worth 3 hours in a car for though, 120 miles to Dublin for a gig, but so worth it :D

Did you notice that Muhammed's guitar and mic cut out 2 or 3 times during the gig? only for about 5-10 seconds each time, but still very noticable.

*tries to kick memory into gear*
did they not play Stabwound again as the encore? i cant remember

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 812 ✭✭✭neGev

    Yeah, Stabwound iirc

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,363 ✭✭✭Mystic Fibrosis

Yeah, it was Stabwound. Weird to hear the same song played twice in the one gig, but what the hell, it was STABWOUND. Worth it for screaming that at the bassist during the encore with a big grin on his face :D

i'm assuming the reason they played it twice was because
    a) we wouldnt **** off, so they had to play an impromptu encore
    b) Sami hasn't learned all the songs yet.

    i'm assuming..

Well I doubt Muhammed was thinking "Oh mein gott, they want more, I have to drag myself onstage again and kick ass"
    :P

hehe. "i cannot paint! mein gott, i vill kill everyone!!"
