    Hey Folks,

I bought the watch below just the other day from Ebay and it's most unusual as I personally haven't seen anything like it. It's a 1970's Seiko Quartz Chronograph SQ100. I know from the details on the back it's possible to tell what year it was made. I've had a look at a few websites but I can't seem to find information that would tell me how old this watch is.

Secondly I don't fully understand how the chronograph works on this watch. It seems to have the following settings:

Time - I have it running correctly at the moment.
Alarm Symbol? I think this is what it is, but I'm not too sure
Set Symbol - Presumably to set the time, but then what does the time option do?
Timer - Don't know what this does
Squiggildy Symbol - No idea what that does

So my questions are, can anyone help me identify just how old it is, and does anyone have any idea how the chronograph works?

send your query to the mods at network54 the sekio citizen forum, also you need to take the back off to reveal the movement no. often the caseback no and the movement no are different, they also have a self help age guide simple to use. i got into trouble with the mods here over a watch for sale here 1 time so i will not venture any info,

Nice watch - if you dig this kind of thing have a look at www.rltwatches.com - some seriously nice 'new old stock' watches there (i.e. old ones that have never been worn).

    Lovejoy.

Use the squiggly, a O with a line through it, to perfectly align the hands so that at midday the hour hand, minute hand and second hand are all pointing directly up.

Hint next time posting a "face" picture move the hands so that the model can be read. I spents ages the other day trying to figure what this watch was following your other thread.
