Just wondering if the full version of Dead Rising is worth buying. I downloaded the demo and thought it was a bit monotonous. Is the finsihed version alot better then the demo??

    Keep it Real!!

Ive heard the text in this game which gives you mission objectives is unreadable on a standard definition(non hd ready) tv.
Ive also heard that is the case with a lot of other xbox 360 games.

I havent an xbox 360 and was thinking of getting one due to the way sony
always puts europe last but now I dont know maybe Ill just wait a while longer before I go next gen.

Yea, I was acutally gonna post about that. The text is horribly Illegable on non-HD TVs even on the relatively new big TV in my living room I can't for the life of me make out what it says. It's really annoying as a lot of the missions and hints your given via com-link appear in text form, as do the majority of conversations. I have absolutely no idea what the text says.

Anyone know if you can change the settings on your XBOX or something to help this. It happens (to a lesser extent ) in other games but it's absolutely ridiculous.

The game is pretty fun though, from what I've played though...

It's a little slow to get going, but once you get into the groove of things it really is a cracking/deadly/smashing experience! I have a few issues atm (and no, it's not the save system, I think that's fine) but I won't be able to tell if they are worthy of complaint until I play through at least once.

I heard about that SD problem alright, but most of it is fairly unimportant. Is it easier to read it if you go to your watch and read the objectives down the bottom?

One of the major problems is the lack of AI with the survivors. They act so bloody stupidly.

    Yep.

...and every time you save, the Zombies seem to multiply.

Pretty annoying on the cutscenes but apart from that, none.

    Using a VGA cable, yeah?
It seems to happen on all displays with the VGA cable and this game.

Whats v-sync issues? (i know what v sync is in terns of pc gaming but not here)
And as for the text, if youve a widescreen sd tv its fine. A little small, but perfectly readable, as long as youre not too far away from the tv

Same as PC gaming really, "tearing" of the screen so you get a broken image with the top half showing something different to the bottom (although only marginally).

I am using a VGA connection, vsync issue was alot more prominent at the start of the game, maybe just 2 engrosed in the game but ive actually stopped noticing it now one ive got into the game a wee bit.

Got this game today, good craic, until I died, then I went to load a save and it bring me back to the start!!!!
    Is this normal?
I'd been playing it for a couple of hours and had met a fair few people and was on the last part of case 1.
What the hell, I'm pretty pissed off to say the least

    A) Read the manual!!
    B) You should have picked to load a saved game (1st option), instead you picked the option that saves your level progress but starts the game over. You start over again with the level you had when you died.

    C) Don't worry, getting to the end of case 1 again will take no time.

I really can't get into it. I've played about 4 hours and I just can't be bothered at the moment. More interested in Lego Star Wars and anxiously waiting for Enchanted Arms to arrive

    D) you get to keep you skills and level etc when you restart like this also,

happened to me also but i was atr the end of case 2 so i restarted at level 12 took me no time to get back to where i was and cream off the easy pp
    at the strart.

    Exactly calex.

Chris, like I said, it can be a little slow at first but give it some more time and you might love it. It's a much better game when you start going up in levels. Also, I can't wait to give [eM] a blast, won't order it until I predict a lull in releases (RE: Some time after x-mas) and I have the time to go through it consistantly but it seems like a fairly respectable title.
