    folks

I found this 32" LCD when shopping around on www.dabs.com. It's almost the same model I was going for on www.komplett.ie but it has an integrated digital tuner. It's also slightly cheaper than on komplett.

Can anybody tell me if this will work ok in Ireland (ie if the tuner will take UHF as well as VHF signals?). I have sky digital as well as NTL's basic service, so it's not a huge deal if I have to dump NTL, but it would be nice to still get Channel 4.

    Thanks for your help folks.

There is no free to air digital broadcasts in this country as of yet so the digital tuner is no use to you.
The only way you might pick up a signal is if you live close to the north and near one of the UK transmitters there.

The set will have an analog tuner same as any other TV but you currently have better than that as it is.

thanks Andy, I knew that the digital tuner is useless right now, I was more concerned that (a) there may not be an analogue tuner and (b) if there were, then it wouldn't be compatible with Irish broadcasting (iirc the UK broadcast on UHF only and Ireland uses VHF too, or maybe the other way around?)

Do you know if the analogue tuner in this set will do that?

I have the previous model (R32BD), and used it for a while with NTL analogue before I got Sky. Had no problems with it, so I presume yours will be the same.

thanks for the replies folks, I've got the TV set up now and it's got NTL analogue, Sky digital and (using a loop type arial) the Irish DTT stations which was a bonus :)
