Whats the deal with passports in Fitz?

New to this site just curious why do the Fitz take your passport number when you join as member? I cant see any reason why this is necessary but hopefully some1 can enlighten me!

yeah they take passport / driving license number. its so they can identify you when you card count / steal chips from the roulette table, i think
