What does your bike handbook recommend?

8000 miles on a set of plugs sounds ok. Depending on the bike and the plugs (and how well you maintain air filter etc.) you could get 12 or 16,000 miles...

I dunno if any of these super-duper plugs are worth it, usually they cost a lot more and the benefits are doubtful.

OTOH you may be forced to buy expensive plugs to fit your bike. I had a CBR600 and had to get CR9EH9 plugs for it. The "H" was for Honda and more than doubled the price over the standard CR9E9. Oh well they lasted 12,000 miles easily so I s'pose I couldn't complain too much.

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

The Iridium plugs are generally thought to improve fuel consumption & accelleration, or so I've read.

further reading.you can get approx 12 to 15k on irudium plugs in a high reving engine.it depends on the application.and it takes 5 thousand less volts to produce a spark.so their not as heavy on the ignition.im getting a set off ebay.they work out the same price as what i normally buy.see how they go.

    cheers...
