Just back from 9 days in a place called Cavtat, about 25 mins from Dubrovnik. I really felt i had to post to just say how fantastic it really is. I've never seen clearer water and leaving yesterday evening at 6.20 it was still 31c !!!
We stayed for 3 days in the old town of Dubrovnik, which again is beautiful, but great to have a bit more room out in the resort. Fully and completely recommend it to anyone

Cavtat is south of Dubrovnik, also along the coast about 20km further down. nice sized little town, bout 4 or 5 decent restaurants. The food is relatively cheap - fillet steak bout 12 €uro - the currency is Kunar , basically divide by seven to get the €uro equiv.
We had no kunar going - everywhere would take € but we still just got the Kuna out of an ATM. drink isnot cheap - but after Ireland nothing seems too bad! coke, water are about 2.50. Wine is local and i liked but not everyones taste - it was roughly €8 so not very cheap either.
Accom is dear enough, we stayed at Castelletta after seeing comments on tripadvisor and here - bout €95 a night for 2.
Just a very nice place though - stroll down the hill in the evening, look at all the fine yachts in the place - very relaxing
