I was just looking at the BBC website and i see Michelle Wie is playing another mens event, looking at the leader board she is 15 over after two days. AFAIK she hasn't yet made the cut for any of the mens events she has entered.
BTW i'm not saying women should be allowed play in mens events, its just she doesn't seem able.

Until she does it in womens events then maybe but until then no.

She is only been used as a PR stunt.

She is good but she still has a lot to do especially on her short game.

No use hitting it miles off tee and no short game

i dont think she or any women should be allowed to play with the men. men are not allowed to play on the women tour so why should it be any different. she could be taking money away from a guy who needs it to retain his card etc. i dont belive there is equality.i love watching her play , she is so hot, but stick to the womens circuit!

Look, 90% of the top pros are not playing this week, now ask yourself why.

The course is too penal and there are some very tricky approach shots to greens.

Now why is Wie in this event, well Omega are her sponsors and they sponsor the event. If she had a choice do you think she would play the Euro masters as her first event in europe?

    Em no.

Leave her alone. She is only 16 and is already subjected to corporate big wigs dragging her across the atlantic just to miss the cut!

I'm really getting sick of Michelle Wie playing in mens tournaments.
She isnt good enough to make the cut and she is only damaging her confidence by failing repeatedly.
    Its all for publicity.
Annika Sorenstam, the best female golfer failed to make the cut in her 2 attempts in Mens tournaments.
Wie must have had at least 10 attempts now and failed pretty miserably in most of them.
In her first attempt as an amateur she only missed the cut by 1 shot.
She should go away and only attempt to make the cut when she is properrly equipped.

Any time Wie plays in a mens tournament one man is removed. Its a horrible pr stunt, virtually every golfer is against it, but people on the outside see it as progression and equal reghts.
Wie should check out tour school, get her card (like thats ever going to happen) just like everone else has to. Her playing in a mens tournament means one less player who may be seeing his card for next season can't

spot on. it is not fair but try telling that to someone who doesn't know much about golf and they think you are discriminating:rolleyes:

It doesn't bother me tbh but I'm sick of every event shes in "Will Wie make the cut". Let her play, whatever but quit digging it up everytime ffs.

Its reverse sexism in a way.
But she obviously has talent, just i'd be concerned that she's already the lapdog of her sponsors at only 16. They should leave to develop.

I don't think women should play in the mens tournaments for several reasons:

    1. They take the place of one of the male players, and therefore that player looses earnings. Usually it ia a lower ranked player who is probably struggling to keep afloat on the tour. How would you like it if your company told you you couldn't work/get paid this week just because they though it would be a good PR stunt to give your job to someone of the opposite gender.
    2. Males cannot play on the womens tour. So we have had Sorenstam & Wie play with the mens tour in recent years, and probably more I don't know about. Where do they draw the line? Keep going and there will be two womens tours.
    3. To be fair, Wie, nor Sorenstam did not do much for the credibility of womens golf by playing the mens tour. Up until Sorenstam first played everyone was saying "She is good enough to play the mens tour", now all that is gone and she and her tour have lost some degree of respect.

I hope that Wies poor round does nothing negative to her game mentally. She is still very young and impressionable, and that kind of result can have a serious negative impact. I think the women play a great game. It is superb golf to watch as they all play a great slow straight game. I find I can pick up tips alot easier watching the women & senior tours.

Maybe they should introduce one or two mixed events a year. Either double matchplay or straight singles?!?!?

While I think she should play in more Ladies tournaments, I wouldn't discourage her from playing in men's events if that's what she wants to do.
She is professional, but only plays part time as she has yet to complete her high school studies. Until she turns 18 she'll not be granted full LPGA tour status. She does have the potential to play well in men's events. The thought that a wee 16 year old girl hitting the ball, with seemingly less effort, a lot farther than I does hurt the ego a bit, as I’m sure it rankles with some tour Pros. Given time to hone her short game, she will be a fantastic player, and will make cuts in men’s tournaments.

She does bring a lot more interest to the golf events she plays in, thus raising the profile of the event, happy days for the lucky sponsors!!!! The money that top players enjoy comes mainly from endorsements and sponsors. Tiger Woods has raised the profile of the game, thus the money has increased – similarly Wie’s participation is helping to increase profile and money. If Omega are good enough to generously fund a golf tournament, as part of the deal they want Wie to play in the event – I really don’t see what the tour Pros have to complain about.

Women should not be entered on Mens professional tours.
Simply because of the fact that men cant play on the Womens Tennis circuit, cant enter the womens 100m or track and field etc.
why should golf be any different?

All Wie's appearances are from sponsors invites(read publicity stunts) and the PGA should intervene, is in if any women wants to play on the Mens tour she should earn her card and qualify thru the tour school.

There should be higher profile mixed golf events, mixed doubles, matchpaly etc.

If she was far too good for the womens tour and could actually compete in the mens game, then fine. But at the moment all she is doing is embarassing herself. What is she trying to prove?? Is it some kind of mixed up equality/ womens rights thing??

If she wasn't pretty and wearing mini skirts would she be tolerated half as much?? (genuine question)
Do any of the men want to play on the womens tour? are they allowed?

Personally I think she should focus on being a winner on the womens tour instead of a controvertial also ran on the Mens tour.Maybe after a few years of dominating the womens game she could then challenge the men but at the moment what is the point in all the controvosy/hype and publicity for someone who is 20-30 shots off the leaders after 2 rounds?

Good luck to her either way but maybe she should consider whats best for her game and her future.
