nVidia Colour Wizard thing messed up me colours

I have a 6800GS. I have the latest drivers. Last night when I installed the new drivers, I was havin a look around the nVidia Control Panel and it had a colour calibration/setup wizard. Assuming it would give me even better quality display settings, I foolishly decided to do the wizard. It involved setting brightness contrast up to full, then moving a slider until certain colours match other shades of black, white, red, green, blue.

After it was finished, basically it looked like muck. All my DVDs looked like they were cheap pirated video-camera-in-the-back-of-the-cinema jobs, even tho they worked perfect the 20 seconds before the wizard, and all my icons were sorta dark and with a bit too much colour in them, like they were really bad colour quality.

I uninstalled the drivers, rebooted, re-installed, no change. Seems like it changed something deeper than that.

    Can anyone help?

Try this, go into your dispay properties then to settings/advanced/colour management.

You should see an ICC profile in the list (perhaps more than one), click on remove and that should reset the colour balance.

u mean the things with Diamond compatible and sRGB and Trinitron and all them? i think i set one of those as the default but still didnt change them.

actually, when i was doin the wizard it sed "This will replace ur ICC profile. Do u want to proceed?" maybe it replaced the Diamond compatible one i always use as default. ill try another one when i get home at 4.

Yup thats probably it, the NVIDIA wizard replaces the default one with it's own custom colour settings.

If you are not sure on which one to use if you delete all of the profiles and just re-install your monitor driver it will but back the original colour profile.
