As the title says... Is it ok to ignore vitamin intake in your diet and just continue to take multi-vitamins?

Nope - nutrition is a very VERY complicated area, and there's more in fruit & veggies than just vitamins and minerals. Until we know everything about the area (which will probably be 'never') it's best to stick to what you know is a good diet. There was something in the Irish Times today about a talk by Prof Susan Fairweather-Tait on this very topic. Her conclusion was that multi-vits are not a substitute for a good diet.

Ok, can I take the multi-vitamins to make sure I have enough of all the essential nutrients and then forget about checking what nutrients are in my fruit & veg but still continue to eat 3 or 4 servings every day?

    Im the same

I'm not sure how much of all the vitamins I'm gettin, so I just take a multivitamin + iron to make sure I have 100% of the RDA of the most common ones

then just eat as much whole foods as i can
