american psp,how can he play euro umds?

Hi,A friend got a psp last xmas but he cant play euro umds on it due to the region code. Are there any hacks for it?If it was downgraded like mine to 1.5 would they work okay? Any info appreciated. Regards, Kieran

No, not that I'm aware of, but you're not going to be allowed to talk about hacks on this board anyway.

1.5 doesn't make a difference, region locking for UMD movies wasn't introduced in a later firmware, it's always been there.

modchip might do it, but why not buy the DVD and rip it to the memory card? UMD movies are dead...
