im just wondering about squats, what should i do to compenste doing them. like the way you work your trisep after your bisep. im 17 and have been lifting for about 6 months now and am trying to bulk up. im 60kg and im squating just that, 60 kg. im doing 3 sets of 8, but want to know what to do with them to work on my legs. i was originaly using machines, (leg curl, extension) and then i started to do squats and lunges, and then returned to the machines, but now that im back to the squats i want to know if theres anyting else, apart from the lunges i can do. any help?

Pistols rock for leg strength, send me a PM and I'll forward a manual that Boru posted here some time back.

Here check this out for a laugh..me doing pistols on a snow capped mountain 9,000+ feet high. See there's no excuse for not exerecising:D

Granted it's not my finest pistol, but I am scared of heights and off falling off the edge!

Straight-legged deadlifts and to a lesser extent normal deadlifts will work your hams.

This is my current leg workout, guaranatee you will feel it afterwards for a day or 2, but it will build the legs big time.
First pre-exhaust you legs with 4 sets of 15-20 leg curls and 4 sets of 15-20 leg extensions. Superset these.
Then do 4 sets of 20 reps squats. Slow and steady and push with the heels, 2 seconds up and 3 seconds back down to just below parallel. No pauses anywhere in it.
The do 4 sets of 20 sitting calfs raises and 4 sets of standing calf raises.

I would consider full squats and lunges to be fairly even workers of hams & quads so you don't really need an antagonising movement for them. So you can add both a quad dominant exercise (like a hack squat, front squat, frog squat, leg extensions etc.), and a hamstring dominant exercise (like a Romanian deadlift, glute-ham raise, stiff-legged deadlift, leg curls etc.) to your leg day.
