Hello everyone I wonder if you could shed some light on this subject...

I received a letter in the post from a garda from the regional traffic division,it states and I quote,

"This is to inform you that I will be seeking an adjournment of your case at the above mentioned court on the above mentioned date."

I have not recieved any summons from this guard:confused: So I do not know what it is for?

    Q. What should I do?

    Any advice grateful thanks....J

Get in touch with the Garda in question, and ask him about it. No need to go running to your solicitor just yet.

Oh, and please don't ask for legal advice in here.

I would think he is seeking an adjournment to circumvent the rule that places a time limit on how soon a traffic offense must be prosecuted.

It could be a mistake. But with all due respect to hullaballoo, I think it may be time to call in a solicitor. If you really have no idea what this is about, I would think it important to deal with it now. I would suggest getting the solicitor to ring the Garda and challenge him.

It may be possible to stop the adjournment from happening.

Something fishy is going on here. Seek proper legal advice from a solicitor.
