Last month, Ryanair announced 12 new routes out of Dublin. The new routes announced today are in addition to these.

The airline also said it carried just over four million passengers in August, up from 3.3 million in the same month last year, which was a rise of 23%.

Ryanair said its load factor for the month - a measure of how well it is filling seats - was 91%, unchanged from August last year.

Last month Ryanair said it will start new routes out of Dublin to : Oslo, Madrid, Tampere (Finland), Vitoria (Spain), Billund (Denmark), Bologna, Grenoble, Friedrichshafen (Germany), Seville, Pula (Croatia), Almeria (Spain) and Rzeszow (Poland).

The new destinations will begin operating from December 2006 to February 2007 and will operate all year round.

Ryanair shares closed seven cent higher at €7.67 in Dublin this evening.
