I have a problem with an SATA drive I got a few days back.
    It is a 200gb Hitachi (HDT722520DLA380)

My problem is that i have my original HD (IDE) which works fine. I connect the new drive to my SATA connector. when I boot the drive is seen.
When in windows XP the drive does not appear but in control panel it is there as the "HDT722520DLA380 SCSI Device"

In the volume tab when I click populate it just gives the capacity and the rest is not initialised or not applicable.

Well anyone any idea what I need to do? Hopefully its just something simple :)

Did you try formatting it? Check it out in the management console (Right click on My Computer and click Manage)

Why did they upgrade from MS DOS and Windows 3.1!!

I didn't even know that manage thing existed :)
