So where do you guys believe the softest cash game is in Dublin

I am in the process of moving back to Dublin from Cork and have played the SE cash game twice in the last two weeks
I was amazed at how soft a game it is softer than the Fitz game which i previously had pegged as the go to game

it is quite dependent on which night of the week it is (Fri/Sat nights are softest by far)

sat night in the jackpot, only went once but on my table were 5 northern lads who never played b4 in their lives and some eastern European who would give you his whole stack with bottom pair, only went to the Fitz once when drunk and lasted about 20 mins :o but my mates said its fairly wasy to make money there if you play tight

how did you do in Cork?

I would say in 30 months in Cork i have probably played 12 times in Cork as i dont like the club (the Macau although it is much improved with the last renovation) and find the atompsphere and players unfriendly.
i found these visits on the main to be proftable as i have had a couple of pushs cash game covering my tourney and a 4 wins of 1500+ most times if i lose it is around 200
I think the standard in the main in the Macau very poor but the tables difficult to manage as you have players with 80 bucks behind on the same table as guys with 2500 behind.
Again and i really dont like playing there

There is this new card room open in Maynooth. They charge you twenty euro in and charge 5% of chips you buy and 5% of chips you cash out. They take no rake and you have to deal for yourself. They give you free drink and food, yes alcohol. Its a 1+2 pot limit game. They only open thurs, fri and sat and game starts at 12 and finishes at 4.30am. That's when they close.

One thing, I tried to raise to 6 when I was next to big blind and I almost got beaten up. Everyone on the table was disgusted at me, they advised that since there was 3 in the pot I could only make it 3. As much as I tried to explain to them that this was impossible, the more chance there was of me being battered. No joke. So I have just learned to live with the house rule.

Mostly nice people, owner sound bloke. If you are from around that area you should go up, even for a laf.

Why did I put this here, why do you think!

So 10% rake plus 20 euro a head to deal for myself in a game with house rules that dont make sense and only max 4 and a half hours of play

    No thanks

    LOL, LOL!

Its a bit mad alrite. Goldmine but nuts. I'm serious when I say two huge auld fellaz where about to batter me. They even asked that I'd be thrown out for suggesting that I was allowed to make it 6. I was scared for my life and just went ok then, I even asked for a ruling and dood comes over and dood comes over and says, "no what evers in the pot, you can only make it 3". I was like YE WHA!

Anyway, its gud for a laf if your around that area, and owner is sound. I dont want to say anything bad about the place. If you like drinking an playing its good. And you'd have to

I wouldn't want to say that a place I have never been to is bad, but I would just like to comment that if you play for 2 hours, sit down with 200 and leave with 800, then you are leaving €70 with the club, that is ~€35 per hour, and based on about 25 hands per hour, less given that it is self deal, but still say 25, this is €1.40 per hand.

Not that I can comment since I have never been to the place.

Never mind the fact that if preflop it was raised the full maximum by 4 players in a row the next player would only have to pay €24 to play as opposed to €250 (quick calc). It should be called a fibonacci limit game.

I played there once, the least enjoyably game of cards i've ever played.

Everyone sees every flop - post flop you have no idea where you stand - everyone buys in for €50 so there is no clever deep stack play.

Very bad value too - turn €120 euro into €90 without playing a hand !!!

As for the owners ! I have witnessed some really dodgy "organising" in their pub tournrments !

I'm here in work, so quick reply. This is a place to have a laf with ur mates, free drink and food.

As I said in my first post, reccomended for local people. Like goin to to the fitz after a night out in town but you get free drink and food.

I understand what you and Bandana boy are saying though.

The "Card room" in this thread kind of reminds me of 'the local shop' in the League of Gentlemen....

Play a home game. you can use proper rules, eat your own food, drink your own drink, and not pay made fees for it.

Then again, since you probably run or actively promote that place I'm sure you wouldn't do that.

Celtic Poker Tours don't do cash games, but if they did.............

I find it very suspicious when someone comes on here and essentially says that they like playing in a place where they get ripped off and you aren't allowed to use proper rules. I don't care how local it is. It's not like maynooth is 1,000,000 miles from any place where there is a card room. Free food and drink is not an excuse I could ever justify to anyone to play there.

Then again if you like it, more power to you. You would hardly be the first shill in the forum, but I'll take your word on it.

Where did I say I like playing in the place. Dont be cheeky. The thread was about soft cash games in Dublin. I just mentioned a place. Advised it was nuts. Advised of its flaws. Said it was a laugh. You come on thinken your all this and that, telling me I run the place or promote it. The cheek of ya. Twat! Who are ya!

To be fair, from reading your posts kamal, I never got the impression that you ran this card club. Don't take too much offence from Dom's allegations, he's only trying to flush out the shills.

I am Kamaldihnio Rauoool Gonzalez. I am half Brazilian, quarter spanish and a quarter Irish. I choose not to use my Irish part of the name Staunton for personal reasons. I believe you are talking about my handsome cousin Kamal. Shill if I ever seen a shill.
